Dinosaur Ring = Marriage?

For whatever reason I can't remember, today I was talking to Micah about all the "names" for your fingers - thumb, pointer, pinky...when I got to "ring-man" I told him that was it's name because when you get married you put a ring on your finger.  He paused a moment and then said, "I have a dinosaur ring...am I married?" I told him no, and went on to explain that as a person grows up they have lots of friends, but some friends will move away.  But someday there is one very special friend you live with and never leave, and that is your spouse.  He then mused to himself, "Maybe grandma's going to be my girl."  I told him no, because Papa was already married to her.  He went on to ask, "Which grandma can be mine?" I told him neither because both were married to different grandpas.  He then sighed and said "Too bad."

Chaos and Control

In high school I enjoyed watching reruns of "Get Smart" in which there was constant feud between the KOAS and CONTROL agents.  I think I've got my own set of agents under one roof...

Joy, on the other hand, is in this age of discovery where the more mess, the better!  Whenever I stick her in this corner, a controlled toy area becomes chaos in a matter of minutes!

"Silly boys, trucks are for girls..."

My sister Hannah has a license plate holder that has that saying.  I think Joy would agree with it!  Micah left some matchbox cars out tonight, and after he went to bed Joy just had a blast!

She definitely has the hand-in-the-cookie-jar look here...I'm still trying to decide if I'll actually show big brother these pictures. ;-)

Joy's learning how to scoot - backwards...she keeps getting herself stuck under things.

And she's also attempting to stand up against things - though her upper body isn't yet strong enough to lift her chunk all the way up. :-)

In place of Saturday morning cartoons...

Micah just loves watching people do yard-work.  Today he was fortunate enough to catch one of our neighbors mowing her lawn.  :-) I think Joy's trying to figure out if it's a worthy pass-time...

Little Pink Riding Hood (and her brother)

Though she's not "cruising" yet, she can stand next to the couch for a little bit!

I'm trying to get her to acquire a taste for green beans, but so far it hasn't happened. She'll let it just sit in her mouth and it slowly oozes back out again.

She doesn't need to acquire a taste for puffs though - and big brother enjoys helping her get them in her mouth!

Giving her next size up carseat a test and it passed - we just switched 'em out in the van!

We used to have a drop-off in our backyard, but we recently had a slope put in by Dave (http://www.prolandscapinginc.com/). Micah enjoys being able to drive his jeep up and down again.
