Turkey Day!

We had a such a great Thanksgiving Day - hope you did too! We enjoyed family, a delicious meal, great conversation, Bingo (with some amazing prizes!), and plenty of moments to just put our feet up and relax too. God also gave us some "warmer" days this week, which is really nice of Him (50 degrees in November in MI is considered warm in my opinion). :-)

Family Project!

It's that time of year again - raking and bagging leaves! The weather was just gorgeous today and this little family of 4 seized the opportunity to be outside and be productive at the same time (thank you, Lord, for warm days in November and able bodies to work). :-)

First Snow!

I put little Joy-Bear down for a brief hibernation (nap) :-) and Micah and I stepped outside for a closer look at the flurries that have been coming down from the sky off and on today.  I thought it only fitting to put up our snowman wreath for the season too!

Dinosaur Ring = Marriage?

For whatever reason I can't remember, today I was talking to Micah about all the "names" for your fingers - thumb, pointer, pinky...when I got to "ring-man" I told him that was it's name because when you get married you put a ring on your finger.  He paused a moment and then said, "I have a dinosaur ring...am I married?" I told him no, and went on to explain that as a person grows up they have lots of friends, but some friends will move away.  But someday there is one very special friend you live with and never leave, and that is your spouse.  He then mused to himself, "Maybe grandma's going to be my girl."  I told him no, because Papa was already married to her.  He went on to ask, "Which grandma can be mine?" I told him neither because both were married to different grandpas.  He then sighed and said "Too bad."

Chaos and Control

In high school I enjoyed watching reruns of "Get Smart" in which there was constant feud between the KOAS and CONTROL agents.  I think I've got my own set of agents under one roof...

Joy, on the other hand, is in this age of discovery where the more mess, the better!  Whenever I stick her in this corner, a controlled toy area becomes chaos in a matter of minutes!
