Covered Bridge

This weekend we had a spontaneous family adventure.  The only thing we had planned for it was driving to see a historic covered bridge (it was really cool and really old). :-)  Along the way, the adventure unfolded before us...

Before getting on the highway we found ourselves driving on a street that was having a "Metro Cruise" - oodles of restored automobiles, new spiffy vehicles, and just plain fun cars too.  Micah LOVED it.

Thought of Uncle Tony Ruth when we saw this one.

Took this picture for great grandpa Ruth.

Micah has this in toy size in our garage!
Our destination: Langley Covered Bridge

After we made it to the covered bridge, we were feeling hungry and couldn't quite find a place to pull over.  We asked God for a good spot, and lo and behold, we found a nice park area to eat our packed lunches.  We then had some fun outdoors and examined a neat gazebo and city hall.

Daddy giving Micah's new scooter a try!

On the way home Scotty spotted a McDonald's PlayPlace and Micah had a blast there too (first time experiencing that - he's finally old enough for the jungle gym).

We took the same exit off the highway on the way home to grab some donuts :-) and we got to enjoy the "Metro Cruise" once more.  Our family adventure had turned out to be just what we needed - some time to rest, be together, and discover more of God's world (and some neat automobiles in it)!
