Late Saturday night

Chicago is officially covered in snow. This California girl is still getting used to winter! It's work to do something as simple as running to the store to pick up milk - first one has to warm up the car, scrape the ice and snow off the windows, and occasionally even shovel the car out of it's parking spot...and all this BEFORE leaving your home! To top it off, this winter we have Micah. Imagine carrying this 15-pounder down and up three flights of stairs whenever you go somewhere. No complaints, just stating fact. We're still adjusting to life with baby. :-)

Anyhoo, late Saturday night Scott and I were winding down for the evening. It was about 11:00 p.m. and I thought we were going to go to bed. Not so. Scott starting putting his winter gear on and said, "I'm going to shovel out the car." What? That's right, at just an hour or so before midnight Scott went out to clean off the car of all the snow that had built up throughout this snowy Saturday. Yet he didn't stop there. After the car was clean, he proceeded to shovel and salt the back porch - and ALL 3 flights of stairs for our apartment building!

And what did I do while Scott battled the snow? I stayed inside and kept warm, with an occasional peek outside to document this event with photos.
